Xochitl Hermosillo, also known as "Coyote Creates" is a Mexican American artist and storyteller from Northern California. She works across many mediums, including music, painting, drawing, and sewing, and she loves exploring any creative path that brings joy and color into the world.

 

As a musician, Xochitl has performed for audiences at Women's March Sacramento, Google, Salesforce, and even Ferrari. Her original songs have gathered more than 300,000 plays online, along with two full-length albums, Bitter and The Mountains Are Here.

 

The idea for her first children's book, Silly Human!, arrived in 2025 after she discovered an Al-generated book while working as a nanny. Unimpressed by its lack of corazón and imagination, she decided it was time to create her own children's book. She drafted the story during nap time and illustrated it over the following months. Silly Human! was made with equal parts love and healthy Latina spite-with the same commitment and passion she writes her music with.

 

When she's not creating art or music, you can find Xochitl outdoors, reading a good book, riding horses, or spending time with her dog, Mango.
